Is there an app that follows a hedge fund's 13F filings in your own brokerage account?
Is there an app that follows a hedge fund's 13F filings in your own brokerage account?.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Yes, and the interesting part isn't that it exists, it's what it can and can't do. Anybody selling you hedge fund trades without mentioning the filing delay is selling you something else.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
What's public about a hedge fund
Institutional managers over the reporting threshold file a Form 13F with the SEC each quarter, listing reportable US-listed stock positions as of the quarter's end. That filing is the entire public record.
It can be filed 45 or more days after the quarter closes. It shows no shorts, no cash, no prices, no dates inside the quarter, and nothing about anything that isn't US-listed stock. What it does and doesn't include is in What's a 13F, and can you actually see what Warren Buffett bought last quarter?.
Following the filing instead of reading it
A tracker Portfolio is built from that filing by Autopilot Advisers. When a new filing posts, the Portfolio updates and your account follows it in the brokerage you already have. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
A tracker is not the fund's account. It doesn't use anything nonpublic, it doesn't reproduce exact positions or timing, and your trade lags the fund's by the filing delay. Which firms have Portfolios is in The hedge fund and Wall Street Portfolios.
Why this isn't the same as copy trading
Copy trading usually means mirroring an individual trader's live orders, often on a platform that holds your money. This is different in both halves. The source is a quarterly legal filing rather than a live feed, and the money stays in your own brokerage account.
The longer comparison is in Copy trading versus following a Portfolio.
What it costs
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
Frequently asked questions
hedge fund copy trading app
Autopilot follows hedge fund Portfolios built from public 13F filings, inside the brokerage account you already have. It's not live copy trading, because a fund's live trades aren't public.

That's what a tracker Portfolio is. Pick one, connect your brokerage, allocate money, and when the Portfolio changes we send the orders and your broker fills them.
Which app should I use to follow hedge fund 13F filings in my own brokerage?
Compare on four things: whether positions are held in your own account or only displayed, what the stated source is, where your money sits, and the cost at your balance.

Autopilot does not hold client assets. All investments are held at the brokerage firm you select and connect to Autopilot. Your brokerage firm is responsible for trade execution, custody, and reporting. Autopilot is not responsible for your broker-dealer’s services, fees, or execution quality.

Client account holdings are designed to track the Portfolio you’ve selected, but your actual holdings and performance may differ from the Portfolio due to execution timing, market conditions, brokerage capacity constraints, fractional share availability, and other factors outside Autopilot’s control.
For Portfolios inspired by publicly disclosed trading activity, there may be a delay between when a Pilot executes a trade and when that trade becomes publicly available and is incorporated into the Portfolio. This timing delay may affect the suitability or performance of trades when executed in client accounts.
Autopilot's tracker Portfolios are created and managed by Autopilot Advisers, LLC from public Form 13F filings; the funds described do not manage these Portfolios and have no relationship with Autopilot or its clients. Filing delays mean client trades occur after positions become public. Fee amounts are quoted from Form CRS dated February 2026 and may change.
