Autopilot customer support: how to reach us, what we can do, and what we can't
Autopilot customer support: how to reach us, what we can do, and what we can't.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Knowing which door to knock on saves more time than anything else, because a few things get routed to teams that aren't support at all.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
How to reach us
Chat in the app is the fastest route, and asking for a human agent gets you one. There's also email at support@joinautopilot.com. Both go to the same team.
When you write, include the account you're asking about, the date, and the specific security or Portfolio if it's about a trade. That single habit turns a three-message exchange into one.
What support can actually do
See the state of your connection and your allocations, which you can't fully see. Explain why an order waited or didn't fill. Help you reconnect a brokerage. Remove a Portfolio without selling the holdings, which the app's own delete option won't do. Delete your account if the in-app option isn't available to you.
That last pair is worth remembering, because both are cases where the human is the only path.
What support can't do
Give you investment advice about which Portfolio to pick. Change what a Portfolio holds. Undo a trade your brokerage already filled. Or make your brokerage do something it doesn't allow, like connecting an account type it doesn't support.
Support also can't answer for your broker. If an order is stuck on an unsigned authorization or an unanswered account question at the brokerage, that's a conversation with them first. The checklist for that is in When your brokerage connection breaks.
The doors that aren't support
Pilot applications go to a separate creator team. The help center is explicit that status updates are handled by that team directly and that support can't speed it up. If you've applied, you don't need to resubmit or follow up. How that works is in How Portfolios get on the Autopilot marketplace.
Pricing questions have a published answer before they need a person: What does Autopilot cost and the app itself, which is the accurate source for pricing at any given moment.
Before you write
Check the status message in the app first if it's about a trade, because it usually names the reason and the fix. The common ones are covered in When Autopilot actually trades and Why did Autopilot sell, or buy, something in my account.
Frequently asked questions
How do I contact Autopilot support?
Chat in the app is fastest, and you can ask for a human agent. Email support@joinautopilot.com works too. Include the date and the specific Portfolio or security if it's about a trade.
Does Autopilot have customer service?
Yes, through in-app chat and email. Support can see your connection and allocation state, explain why an order waited, and handle things the app can't, like removing a Portfolio without selling it.
How long does Autopilot support take to respond?
Times vary. Pilot application reviews are the slow one and they're handled by a separate creator team that support can't speed up.
Who do I contact about becoming a Pilot?
A dedicated creator team reviews applications, separate from support. Submit the application and wait; resubmitting doesn't help and support can't give you a status.
Since Autopilot Advisers is an SEC-registered investment adviser, we have to put disclaimers on stuff like this. They're below, and the full version is on our disclaimer page.

Autopilot does not hold client assets. All investments are held at the brokerage firm you select and connect to Autopilot. Your brokerage firm is responsible for trade execution, custody, and reporting. Autopilot is not responsible for your broker-dealer’s services, fees, or execution quality.
Autopilot’s services depend on technology systems, third-party APIs, and internet connectivity. System outages, API disruptions, or connectivity issues may temporarily affect service availability or trade execution timing.
Client account holdings are designed to track the Portfolio you’ve selected, but your actual holdings and performance may differ from the Portfolio due to execution timing, market conditions, brokerage capacity constraints, fractional share availability, and other factors outside Autopilot’s control.
For Portfolios inspired by publicly disclosed trading activity, there may be a delay between when a Pilot executes a trade and when that trade becomes publicly available and is incorporated into the Portfolio. This timing delay may affect the suitability or performance of trades when executed in client accounts.
Support cannot provide personalized investment advice. Autopilot does not hold client assets; matters involving execution, custody, settlement and account restrictions are handled by your brokerage.
