Finimize's Portfolios on Autopilot: Best Ideas and Momentum Rider
Finimize's Portfolios on Autopilot: Best Ideas and Momentum Rider.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Finimize is an analyst team rather than one person, and the two Portfolios they publish work in genuinely different ways. That difference is the whole page.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
Who they are
Finimize is a financial media and research company. Their Portfolio descriptions say the team includes analysts with experience at large banks and asset managers.
The Portfolios, and what each one says it does
Finimize Best Ideas is described as an actively managed, concentrated portfolio. The process starts with every stock their analysts rate as a buy, then narrows to the ideas that stand out most, weighing valuation, the market backdrop, potential upside and risk. The description says position sizes are actively managed as markets move and investment cases evolve, and that the stated goal is to outperform a broad US index over the medium to long term.
Momentum Rider is described as a dual momentum strategy across global stocks, global bonds, commodities, gold and bitcoin. Relative momentum compares how assets have performed against each other; absolute momentum checks whether an asset has actually risen over the period. The description says the strategy leans into what is performing and avoids what is lagging, rather than holding a bit of everything all the time.
What to check before you follow
A stated goal to outperform an index is a goal, not a result, and nobody can promise you the second one.
A momentum strategy by construction buys what has gone up and sells what has gone down. That works until it doesn't, and the periods where it doesn't are sharp reversals. If that behavior would make you quit, it's the wrong strategy for you regardless of its merits.
Read the Portfolio's own description in the app, because that's the Pilot's statement of method. Look at the worst decline rather than the return, because that's the number that decides whether you hold on. Check how often it changes, since turnover costs money and creates taxable events in a taxable account. And check the fee at your balance, which is arithmetic in What Autopilot's fee actually means at your balance.
How following works
You pick the Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
What it costs
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
