The xAI Tracker: following the public companies around an AI build-out
The xAI Tracker: following the public companies around an AI build-out.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. You cannot buy xAI. It's private. What you can buy is the public companies it spends money with, which is a completely different proposition and worth being precise about.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
The thing people are actually asking
xAI is a private company. There's no ticker, no filing, and no way to buy shares in a brokerage account. Any product implying otherwise isn't describing something real.
What exists publicly is the supply chain: the companies that sell compute, chips, power and infrastructure into that build-out, and the public companies run by the same person. Those trade, and their filings and earnings calls are public.
What the Portfolio is
The xAI Tracker is published by a Pilot, Ani Mulik, and managed by Autopilot Advisers. Its description says research is synthesized from four layers: public statements, interviews and disclosures from the principals involved across the related companies; institutional hedge fund 13F filings from AI-forward concentrated funds; independent analyst coverage; and technical momentum confirmation on entries and exits.
The stated thesis is a chain: AI needs compute, compute needs power, power needs orbit. The Portfolio's description says it tracks the infrastructure layer being built around that vision, including companies the market may not have fully priced.
What this is not
It is not ownership of xAI, or of any private company, and following it gives you no claim on one.
It's also not a filings tracker. Three of its four stated layers are interpretation: public statements, analyst coverage, and momentum. That's a thesis Portfolio, which is fine as long as you know that's what you're buying.
The risks specific to this one
Concentration in one theme and, to a degree, around one person's companies. Those correlate, so the number of positions overstates the diversification.
Momentum-based entries and exits mean it can sell after a decline and buy after a rise, which is how momentum works and is not a flaw, but it produces turnover and taxable events in a taxable account.
And a build-out thesis depends on capital spending continuing. If spending slows, the whole chain moves together.
Read the Portfolio's own description in the app, because that's the statement of method. Look at the worst decline rather than the return. Check how often it changes, since turnover costs money and creates taxable events in a taxable account. And check the fee at your balance, which is arithmetic in What Autopilot's fee actually means at your balance.
How following works
You pick the Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
Frequently asked questions
xAI stock portfolio app
xAI is private and can't be bought. The xAI Tracker on Autopilot follows public companies in the infrastructure build-out around it, published by an independent Pilot.
Is there a portfolio that follows xAI-related public companies?
Yes. Its description says it synthesizes public statements, institutional 13F filings, independent analyst coverage and technical momentum, and it holds public companies only.
How do I invest in xAI?
You can't. It's a private company with no ticker and no public filing. What's investable is the public supply chain around the build-out, which is a different bet with different risks.
