Updated 2026-10-09. I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Open it in the Autopilot app. https://link.joinautopilot.com/eXKr?c=what-does-autopilot-cost&af_sub1=intro Here's the short version. Basic Tier has no Autopilot fee. On Premium Tier, you pay a flat subscription for each Pilot whose Portfolio you follow, quarterly or yearly. That fee runs from $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter, or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. The AUM Fee, a percentage-of-assets fee, is 0.00%. Let me explain what you get at each tier, what the money covers, and how to figure out if it's worth it at your investing account balance. 1) The two tiers You pick a tier for each Pilot. Basic Tier has no Autopilot fee. We send your broker your starting allocation, then send you an alert when the Portfolio's holdings or allocation change, with a reminder that we're not automatically notifying or sending orders to your broker to update your account’s holdings. Premium Tier is the paid tier. Where your broker allows it, it lets you have Autopilot automatically send your broker the rebalancing instructions when the Portfolio changes. It also includes access to live programming and in-person events that Autopilot sponsors. 2) What the Premium Tier fee is The Premium Tier fee is a fixed amount for each Pilot, charged in advance by credit card, quarterly or yearly. It runs from $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. The subscription is the Premium Tier fee itself, not a charge on top of it. Third-party Pilots set their own prices for their subscriptions, so what you pay for a Pilot is the price you see in the app at checkout. To put that into context, as of July 25, 2026, 99 of the 101 third-party Pilot subscriptions were priced between $30 and $100 a quarter. If a price has changed since then, the app is the current source. The Portfolios Autopilot operates itself, like Inverse Cramer, the Citadel Tracker, the NVIDIA Tracker, the Pelosi Tracker+, and more come under one subscription called Autopilot Premium. As of October 9, 2026, it's $29.99 a quarter or $99.99 a year. Rounded, that's $30 and $100. Again, the AUM Fee is 0.00%. 3) One subscription per Pilot, not per Portfolio We charge the fee per Pilot. Pick Premium Tier for one of a Pilot's Portfolios, and you can follow that Pilot's other Portfolios on Premium Tier without another fee. Add a second Pilot, and you add that Pilot's subscription. https://link.joinautopilot.com/eXKr?c=what-does-autopilot-cost&af_sub1=body You can mix them. Basic Tier for one Pilot, Premium Tier for another. 4) What isn't our fee Your broker's own costs, like commissions, margin interest, and regulatory fees, are separate. So are the expense ratios of any ETFs a Portfolio holds. Autopilot doesn't charge them, and it doesn't charge you per trade. We never charge performance fees (a share of your gains) either. In a taxable account, taxes are the other cost. That's not a fee, but it can cost you. Because some Portfolios change often, you can expect frequent trading and mostly short-term gains and losses. And there are minimums. We set a $500 minimum account size and a $500 minimum per Portfolio. 5) The math at your balance A flat fee works differently from a percentage. Take $99.99 a year: - On $500, that's about 20% of the balance. - On $5,000, about 2%. - On $50,000, about 0.2%. A percentage-of-assets fee is the same share at any size, so the dollars grow with your balance. 1% of $10,000 is $100 a year. 1% of $100,000 is $1,000. So a flat fee matters most on a small account. If you're putting in the $500 minimum, a yearly subscription is a big share of it. Do the math before you pay. We bill quarterly or yearly. If you want a monthly number, divide the quarterly price by 3 or the yearly price by 12. $99.99 a year works out to about $8.33 a month. 6) If you cancel You cancel each Pilot's subscription separately in the app, under your profile and Subscriptions. It stops renewing at the next billing date. Cancelling doesn't sell your holdings or disconnect your brokerage. We stop managing and rebalancing that Portfolio going forward, and the holdings stay in your brokerage account. On refunds, if you cancel within 5 days of your most recent charge, you're eligible for a full refund, and longer-term subscribers may be eligible for a prorated refund by asking support. You can also ask for a pro-rata refund of prepaid, unused fees by emailing support@joinautopilot.com. 7) Is it worth it? That's the question. It depends on: - How much you're putting in. - What you'd pay otherwise. - Whether you'd actually follow the strategy yourself, every time it changed. I want to be honest with you. This is not a get rich quick app. Some Pilots go up for years, some are flat for years, and some lose money. And you pay the fee whether a Portfolio makes money or loses it. Go spend 10 minutes in the app and look through the Portfolios. Read a Portfolio's description, its holdings, and its performance chart. Research the person and the Portfolio before you pay for Premium Tier. TLDR: Basic Tier has no Autopilot fee: we send your starting allocation, then alert you when the Portfolio changes. On Premium Tier, the fee is a flat subscription for each Pilot, charged in advance, quarterly or yearly, and you can have us automatically send your broker the rebalancing instructions where it allows. The fee runs from $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year, and you pay the price shown at checkout. One subscription per Pilot, not per Portfolio. The AUM Fee is 0.00%. Frequently asked questions What does Autopilot cost? Basic Tier has no Autopilot fee. On Premium Tier, you pay a flat subscription for each Pilot whose Portfolio you follow, charged in advance by credit card, quarterly or yearly. That fee runs from $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year, and you pay the price shown in the app at checkout. Autopilot Premium, for the Portfolios Autopilot operates itself, is $29.99 a quarter or $99.99 a year as of October 9, 2026. The AUM Fee is 0.00%. How much does Autopilot cost per month? We bill quarterly or yearly. To get a monthly number, divide the quarterly price by 3 or the yearly price by 12. Autopilot Premium at $99.99 a year works out to about $8.33 a month. As of July 25, 2026, 99 of 101 third-party Pilot subscriptions were $30 to $100 a quarter, or about $10 to $33 a month. Basic Tier has no Autopilot fee. What's the total cost of using Autopilot for a full year? On Autopilot Premium, one year costs $99.99 on the yearly plan or 29.99 times 4). A second Pilot adds that Pilot's price. As of July 25, 2026, third-party Pilot yearly prices ran from $35 to $365, and the most common were $100 and $150. Add your broker's own costs, any fund expense ratios, and taxes on gains in a taxable account. Do I have to pay for every Portfolio I follow on Autopilot? No. The fee is per Pilot, not per Portfolio. Once you pick Premium Tier for one of a Pilot's Portfolios, you can follow that Pilot's other Portfolios on Premium Tier without another fee. A second Pilot means a second subscription. You can also use Basic Tier for one Pilot and Premium Tier for another. Each Pilot decides which Portfolios its subscription covers, so check the app. Is there a free version of Autopilot? Basic Tier has no Autopilot fee. We send your broker the Portfolio's starting allocation, then alert you when the Portfolio changes, with a reminder that we're not automatically notifying your broker to update your account. Your broker's own costs still apply. Premium Tier, which lets you have Autopilot automatically send your broker the rebalancing instructions if your broker allows it, is the paid tier. What's the difference between a flat subscription fee and a percentage-of-assets fee? A flat subscription costs the same dollars at any balance, so it's a bigger share of a small account and a smaller share of a large one. $99.99 a year is about 20% of $500 and about 0.2% of $50,000. A percentage-of-assets fee is the same share at any size, so it costs more dollars as you grow: 1% of $100,000 is $1,000 a year. Today the Premium Tier fee is a flat subscription, and the AUM Fee is 0.00%. Does Autopilot charge per trade or have hidden fees? Autopilot doesn't charge per trade and doesn't charge performance fees. On Premium Tier, the Autopilot fees are the subscription for each Pilot and the AUM Fee, which is 0.00%. Your broker's own costs, like commissions, margin interest, and regulatory fees, and any fund expense ratios are separate, and Autopilot doesn't charge them. Taxes on gains in a taxable account aren't a fee but are a real cost. What happens if I cancel my Autopilot subscription? You cancel each Pilot's subscription in the app, and it stops renewing at the next billing date. Cancelling doesn't sell your holdings or disconnect your brokerage. We stop managing and rebalancing that Portfolio, and the holdings stay in your brokerage account. If you cancel within 5 days of your most recent charge, you're eligible for a full refund, and longer-term subscribers may be eligible for a prorated refund by asking support.
