Autopilot promo codes, the Basic Tier, and the credit that actually exists: what's real before you install
What Autopilot promo codes actually exist, how Basic Tier works, and which credits are real.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. People search for an Autopilot promo code right before they install, and coupon sites are happy to invent one. Here's what actually exists, as of the date on this page: a tier with no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, one credit tied to a brokerage partner, and a refund window. Anything else you find, check against our help center before you trust it.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
Basic Tier has no platform fee
The app is free to download, and the Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, per our Form CRS dated February 2026; your brokerage's own costs are separate and apply regardless. On Basic Tier you can connect a brokerage, set up Portfolios, and the initial holdings are placed once; what you don't get is the ongoing following, which is the Premium Tier's job. So you can see the whole product, connect, and hold a Portfolio's snapshot without paying anything. What each tier does is in Subscriptions, plainly: what Basic Tier does, what Premium Tier does, and why one Pilot subscription covers all of that Pilot's Portfolios.
The one credit, and where it comes from
As of September 15, 2026, our help center describes one credit: Public, a brokerage partner, offers thirty dollars toward an Autopilot subscription for people who sign up through its Autopilot page and connect a Public account, with the credit applied to subscription fees, not deposited as cash for trading, and with a note that the offer can be tied to limited-time promotions. That's the entire list. It exists because we have a referral arrangement with Public, which pays us when referred clients open and fund accounts; that arrangement is disclosed in our footer and in Form CRS, and you are never required to use Public. How the two of us fit together is in How Autopilot works with Public.
Promo codes
I don't know of a coupon code we've issued, and I'd be suspicious of any site that says it has one. If a code isn't described in our help center, treat it as noise. The honest way to pay less is the one already built in: start on Basic Tier, which has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, read the fact sheet of what you'd follow, and only pay for the following when you've decided the Pilot is worth it.
The refund window
As of September 2026, the help center describes a full refund if you cancel within five days of your most recent charge, on quarterly or annual plans, and a prorated review for unused time after that, handled by support rather than in the app. Cancelling never sells your holdings; they stay at your brokerage. The exits are all laid out in How to reduce, withdraw, stop, or leave: changing an allocation, deleting a Portfolio, cancelling a subscription, disconnecting, and deleting your account.
What a discount is worth
Do the math the way I'd do it for any subscription: dollars a year divided by the dollars you'll actually allocate. Thirty dollars off matters a lot on a small account and hardly at all on a large one, and the tier fee itself is the same arithmetic, which I worked through in What a flat investing fee means at your balance: the small-account math, what Premium Tier is for, and how to leave.
Frequently asked questions
Does Autopilot have a promo code?
Not one I know of. As of September 15, 2026 the only credit described in Autopilot's help center is a thirty-dollar credit toward a subscription for people who sign up through Public's Autopilot page and connect a Public account, subject to the offer's terms. Codes on coupon sites that aren't in the help center aren't ours. The built-in way to pay less is to start on Basic Tier, which has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee.
Is there a free version of Autopilot?
The app is free to download and Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee per Form CRS dated February 2026; your brokerage's own costs still apply. On it you can connect a brokerage and set up Portfolios, and the initial holdings are placed once; ongoing following as the Portfolio changes requires the paid Premium Tier, and some Pilots' Portfolios carry their own subscription.
How do I get the Public credit on Autopilot?
Per Autopilot's help center as of September 15, 2026, sign up through Public's Autopilot page, connect the Public account, and the thirty-dollar credit is applied toward Autopilot subscription fees, not as cash in your brokerage; the offer may be limited-time, so verify it in the help center first. Autopilot has a disclosed referral arrangement with Public and you are not required to use Public.
Does Autopilot have a free trial?
Basic Tier is the trial: download the app at no charge, connect, set up a Portfolio on Basic Tier, which has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and pay only when you want ongoing following. If you subscribe and change your mind, the help center as of September 2026 describes a full refund within five days of the most recent charge, requested through support.

Autopilot does not hold client assets. All investments are held at the brokerage firm you select and connect to Autopilot. Your brokerage firm is responsible for trade execution, custody, and reporting. Autopilot is not responsible for your broker-dealer’s services, fees, or execution quality.
Autopilot’s services depend on technology systems, third-party APIs, and internet connectivity. System outages, API disruptions, or connectivity issues may temporarily affect service availability or trade execution timing.
Client account holdings are designed to track the Portfolio you’ve selected, but your actual holdings and performance may differ from the Portfolio due to execution timing, market conditions, brokerage capacity constraints, fractional share availability, and other factors outside Autopilot’s control.
For Portfolios inspired by publicly disclosed trading activity, there may be a delay between when a Pilot executes a trade and when that trade becomes publicly available and is incorporated into the Portfolio. This timing delay may affect the suitability or performance of trades when executed in client accounts.
Autopilot receives compensation from Public.com when clients referred by Autopilot open and fund accounts. Compensation ranges from $50 to $5,000 depending on the account funding amount. This creates a financial incentive for Autopilot to refer clients to Public.com. You are not required to use Public.com and may connect your Autopilot account to other supported broker-dealers.
The Public credit and the refund terms are described as they appeared in Autopilot's public help center on September 15, 2026 and may change or end; the help center and Public's own terms govern. Fee facts are from Form CRS dated February 2026. Autopilot receives compensation from Public for referred accounts as disclosed. Nothing here is a performance claim or a recommendation.
