Does Autopilot have a web or desktop app?.

Chris Josephs5 min read

I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Short page. The product is a mobile app, and there are a couple of things you can do on the web that people don't realize.

One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.

Where the product lives

Autopilot is an iPhone and Android app, and that's where registration, connecting a brokerage, choosing Portfolios and allocating all happen. Where to get it and what it requires is in Is Autopilot on Android and iPhone.

What you can do without the app

Read our disclosures and legal documents on the website, including the Form ADV and the relationship summary. Read the help center. Read this Journal.

And verify us, which you should do from sources we don't control: the SEC's adviser disclosure site for the registration and the Form ADV, and your own brokerage's statements for where your assets are. That's in Is Autopilot SEC registered.

What you still do at your brokerage

Your brokerage's own app or website is where you'll approve trades if your broker requires it, check trade history when you want the record of truth, change dividend reinvestment settings, and revoke third-party access if you ever want to cut the connection from their side.

That's not a workaround. Your broker holds the account, so their record is the authoritative one, which comes up in Why did Autopilot sell, or buy, something in my account.

If mobile-only is a dealbreaker

Then it's a dealbreaker, and I'd rather you know before you register than after. Some people want a desktop workflow for anything involving money, and that's a legitimate preference rather than something to talk you out of.

Frequently asked questions

Does Autopilot have a website version?

The product itself is a mobile app. The website carries the legal documents, disclosures and help center, and this Journal.

Can I use Autopilot on my computer?

Setup and allocation happen in the mobile app. Your brokerage's own website handles trade approvals, trade history and revoking third-party access.

Is there an Autopilot desktop app?

No desktop app. If a mobile-only workflow doesn't suit you, that's worth knowing before you register rather than after.

Where do I download Autopilot?

The App Store and Google Play. Setup happens inside the app, including connecting the brokerage account you already have.
