The Calacanis Tracker: what it follows, where the data comes from, and how to follow it

What the Calacanis Tracker follows, why its source is a third-party public log rather than a filing, and how to follow it.

I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. This one is ours, and its source is unusual, so I'm going to spend most of this page on the source.

It's not an SEC filing. It's a public log somebody else keeps. That changes what you're trusting. Let me explain.

One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.

1) What it is

The Calacanis Tracker is created and managed by Autopilot Advisers, LLC. It's an Autopilot Portfolio, built around the public market trades of Jason Calacanis, the angel investor.

Calacanis has nothing to do with it. He doesn't manage it, he isn't affiliated with Autopilot, and he hasn't endorsed it.

2) Where the data comes from

The Portfolio's description says the positions are pulled from a public Coda document. As of September 23, 2026, that document is titled Jay Trading, is published by a third party rather than by Calacanis himself, and says at the top that it isn't investment advice and that it lists trades by Jason Calacanis.

So the chain is: somebody keeps a public log of trades they attribute to Calacanis, and the Portfolio follows that log.

3) What that means for you

For those unaware, most trackers on Autopilot are built from SEC filings, which are legal documents with a standard behind them. This one isn't. It depends on a third party keeping an accurate, complete log.

I want to be honest with you. We can confirm the log exists and what it says. We can't independently confirm that every entry matches what Calacanis actually did, or that nothing is missing. That's the trade-off with a commentary source: it can be faster than a filing, and it's looser.

If what you want is a filings-based tracker, those are in Every investor and fund tracker on Autopilot.

4) The stated idea

The description frames it as using private-market wisdom in public-market trades, the idea being that an investor who sees early-stage companies up close may bring that view to the stocks he buys.

That's the thesis. It's reasonable, and it's still a thesis.

5) How following works

Pick the Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.

A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on for each Pilot you subscribe to. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

TLDR: The Calacanis Tracker is an Autopilot Portfolio that follows a public, third-party log of trades attributed to Jason Calacanis. It's faster than a filing and looser, because it depends on that log being accurate and complete. Calacanis isn't involved.
