Colin Kolano's Portfolios on Autopilot: Agentic AI Backbone, Autonomous Warfare, and Intentionally Lucky
Colin Kolano's Portfolios on Autopilot, including Agentic AI Backbone and Intentionally Lucky, and how to follow them.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Colin Kolano runs three Portfolios, and one of them has a description I'd put in front of any new investor.
It's about being right about something big versus being exactly right about something small. I'll get to it. First, the three.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
1) Agentic AI Backbone
Colin Kolano is an independent Pilot who creates and manages all three Portfolios.
Agentic AI Backbone holds the companies autonomous AI systems depend on: chips, infrastructure, power, and security. The description says Colin uses a team of AI agents that reads financial news, filings and market updates daily to generate conviction scores across a set universe of stocks.
So the agents are research tools, scoring stocks inside Colin's process. It's a neat twist, using agents to invest in the companies that power agents.
2) Autonomous Warfare
The full stack of autonomous defense: the software that runs it, drones, swarm software, sensors and manufacturing. The description cites the Defense Department's 2026 budget, which it says includes a dedicated line for autonomous systems.
If that's right, it's a real spending signal, and defense spending is decided by governments, which change their minds. Defense Portfolios are compared in Is there an app that invests in defense stocks for me?.
3) Intentionally Lucky
Here's the one I mentioned. The description starts with a shift that's actually happening and asks who ends up collecting the money. Sometimes it's obvious. Sometimes it's a company nobody connects to the story, like an insurer that stayed in a state after its competitors pulled out.
It holds 10 to 15 stocks, sized purely on conviction, always fully invested, and it doesn't spread across sectors to look balanced. In the description's words, they'd rather be roughly right about something enormous than exactly right about something small. It expects some picks to miss and needs the winners to pay for them.
For those unaware, that's how a lot of great investors actually think. It's also a recipe for big swings.
4) The risk, said plainly
I want to be honest with you. Conviction sizing and no sector balancing mean this Portfolio can be very concentrated in one idea at a time. When that idea is wrong, the whole thing feels it.
Size all three with that in mind, and read the worst stretch in each record.
5) How following works
Pick a Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on for each Pilot you subscribe to. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
TLDR: Colin Kolano runs an AI-infrastructure Portfolio scored by Colin's own team of AI agents, an autonomous defense Portfolio, and Intentionally Lucky, a concentrated, conviction-sized bet on big shifts. All three swing hard by design.
