Flextiger's systematic Portfolios on Autopilot

Flextiger's Value Breakout, MonsoonSigma, and MonsoonCrypto Portfolios on Autopilot, how they work, and how to follow them.

Chris Josephs8 min read

I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Flextiger runs three systematic Portfolios on Autopilot. One is a value-plus-breakout strategy. The other two pair rule-based engines, and one of them brings crypto into it.

They're more complex than most Portfolios on the platform. Here's each one, plainly.

One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.

1) Who they are

Flextiger is an independent Pilot, and the firm behind it is Flextiger Ascend LLC. It creates and manages all three Portfolios.

Its description says the founder, Phil Ye, has experience across corporate finance, venture capital, and algorithmic investing, is an LP in two venture funds, and is a venture partner at a firm focused on Y Combinator startups.

2) Flextiger Value Breakout

A three-layer filter. First, a read on the macro environment to find sectors where institutional money may rotate next. Second, a screen for deeply discounted stocks in those sectors, which it calls the Value Valley. Third, a technical scorecard that has to confirm a move before any position is entered.

The description calls it patient, systematic swing trading. For those unaware, swing trading means holding positions for days to weeks, which means more trading than a buy-and-hold Portfolio.

3) MonsoonSigma

Two rule-based engines, rebalanced weekly, with no discretionary override. The trend engine uses leveraged technology and index ETFs when momentum is confirmed, buys deep washouts, moves into volatility hedges at extremes and keeps a dedicated bear book. The contrarian engine ranks 13 different sub-strategies, across technology, metals, China, bonds, volatility, and crypto proxies, and buys the three with the weakest short-term returns.

It started on Autopilot in August 2026.

4) MonsoonCrypto

Every week the system asks one question: is Bitcoin trending up? If yes, it buys the most active names in the crypto space. If not, it rotates into a defensive set of gold miners, market hedges, and large-company momentum. It runs alongside the MonsoonSigma engine.

It started on Autopilot in September 2026.

5) The risk, said plainly

I want to be honest with you. Leveraged ETFs, volatility products, and crypto-linked stocks are some of the most complex things a Portfolio can hold. Leveraged ETFs can lose value over time even when the market moves the way you expected.

Weekly rules also mean a lot of trading, and in a taxable account, a lot of taxable events. And the Monsoon Portfolios started on Autopilot in August and September 2026, so check how long each record is.

6) How following works

Pick a Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.

A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on for each Pilot you subscribe to. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

TLDR: Flextiger runs three systematic Portfolios on Autopilot: Value Breakout, which screens for discounted stocks and waits for technical confirmation, and MonsoonSigma and MonsoonCrypto, which pair weekly rule-based engines using leveraged ETFs, volatility hedges, and crypto-linked stocks. These are complex and active, and the Monsoon records start in 2026.

Leveraged exchange-traded funds are complex products that generally reset daily and can lose value over time, including when the market moves in the direction anticipated; they may not be suitable for most investors. Volatility-linked products and digital asset-related securities are highly volatile and may lose substantial value. Weekly rebalancing can increase turnover and taxable events.
