How to follow Brad Gerstner and Altimeter's disclosed positions in your own brokerage account
How to follow Brad Gerstner and Altimeter's disclosed positions in your own brokerage account.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Brad Gerstner talks in public more than most managers do, which makes people think they know what Altimeter owns. What they actually know is the filing. Here's what's in it and what you can do with it.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
What's public
Altimeter Capital is a technology-focused investment firm founded in 2008 by Brad Gerstner, with offices in Menlo Park and Boston. It files a quarterly Form 13F with the SEC, and it also appears in 13G filings when it crosses a reporting threshold in a single company. Both are public on EDGAR.
A 13F can be filed 45 or more days after the quarter closes. So the filing is old the day it posts, and your account follows it after that. Anyone offering you a fund's trades faster than the filing is not working from public information.
What the Portfolio follows
The Altimeter Capital Tracker is a Portfolio in the Autopilot app. Its description names EDGAR 13Fs and 13Gs as the source. Autopilot Advisers builds and manages it from those filings, and when a new one posts the Portfolio updates and your account follows it. Altimeter has nothing to do with it.
The honest limits
Altimeter runs both public and private funds, and only the public side files. A 13F also shows no shorts, no cash, no prices and no dates inside the quarter. Hearing a manager describe a position on a podcast is not a filing, and we don't build Portfolios out of podcast appearances.
Tracking versus following
Tracking means you read the positions somewhere. Plenty of sites parse the filing and put it in a table, and nothing happens in your account.
Following means the positions are held in the brokerage account you already have, and stay updated. You pick the Portfolio, connect your brokerage, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
What it costs
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
Frequently asked questions
Brad Gerstner portfolio tracker app
Autopilot publishes an Altimeter Capital Tracker built from the firm's public EDGAR filings and held in the brokerage account you already have. It is managed by Autopilot Advisers, not by Altimeter or Mr. Gerstner.
Brad Gerstner portfolio tracker
The filings are free to read on EDGAR. The tracker in our app holds the disclosed positions in your own connected brokerage and updates after each filing posts.
How can I follow Brad Gerstner's portfolio in my own brokerage?
Pick the Altimeter Capital Tracker, connect your brokerage, allocate money. When the Portfolio changes we send the orders and your broker fills them.
Altimeter Capital 13F tracker app
That's what it is, and the Portfolio's description also names 13G filings, which is how a large single-company stake shows up between quarterly reports.
Since Autopilot Advisers is an SEC-registered investment adviser, we have to put disclaimers on stuff like this. They're below, and the full version is on our disclaimer page.
