How to follow Chris Hohn and TCI's disclosed positions in your own brokerage account
How to follow Chris Hohn and TCI's disclosed positions in your own brokerage account.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Sir Christopher Hohn runs one of the most concentrated funds in the world and almost never talks about it, so the filing is genuinely all you get. Here's how to read it and how to follow it.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
What's public
TCI Fund Management, The Children's Investment Fund, files a quarterly Form 13F with the SEC. It lists the fund's reportable US-listed equity positions as of the quarter's end and posts on EDGAR.
A 13F can be filed 45 or more days after the quarter closes. So the filing is old the day it posts, and your account follows it after that. Anyone offering you a fund's trades faster than the filing is not working from public information.
What the Portfolio follows
The Chris Hohn Tracker is a Portfolio published by a Pilot, Pepe Nieves, and managed by Autopilot Advisers. Its description says it is based on TCI's 13F filings, tracks the fund's largest disclosed US equity positions, and rebalances after each new filing so it stays aligned with each new TCI filing.
The honest limits
The Portfolio's own description makes a point worth repeating, because it's the honest kind. A 13F only discloses US-listed equities, so several major international positions historically associated with Hohn and TCI, names like Safran and Airbus, are not in the filing and are not in the Portfolio. A fund this concentrated in Europe is therefore only partly visible through a US filing.
Tracking versus following
Tracking means you read the positions somewhere. Plenty of sites parse the filing and put it in a table, and nothing happens in your account.
Following means the positions are held in the brokerage account you already have, and stay updated. You pick the Portfolio, connect your brokerage, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
What it costs
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

TCI Fund Management 13F tracker app
Yes, with one limit stated in the Portfolio's own description: a 13F covers US-listed equities only, so TCI's large European positions don't appear.
