How to follow Harvard's endowment in your own brokerage account
How to follow Harvard's endowment in your own brokerage account.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. University endowments are the original long-term money, and Harvard's is the one everybody asks about. A small part of it is public. Here's which part, and what you can do with it.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
What's public
Harvard Management Company runs the Harvard University endowment and files a quarterly Form 13F with the SEC. That filing covers reportable US-listed stock positions as of the quarter's end and posts publicly on EDGAR.
A 13F can be filed 45 or more days after the quarter closes. So the filing is old the day it posts, and your account follows it after that. Anyone offering you a fund's trades faster than the filing is not working from public information.
What the Portfolio follows
The Harvard Tracker is a Portfolio published by a Pilot, Gannon Breslin, and managed by Autopilot Advisers. Its description says it is sourced from Harvard Management Company's quarterly 13F filings and takes the fifteen largest reported holdings, rebalancing with each new filing so it stays aligned with the newest filing.
The honest limits
An endowment's 13F is a slice of it. The endowment also holds private equity, real assets, hedge fund allocations and bonds, and none of that is in the filing. So a Harvard tracker follows a public-stock sleeve, not the endowment's actual allocation, and it follows it one quarter behind.
Tracking versus following
Tracking means you read the positions somewhere. Plenty of sites parse the filing and put it in a table, and nothing happens in your account.
Following means the positions are held in the brokerage account you already have, and stay updated. You pick the Portfolio, connect your brokerage, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
What it costs
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

The filings are public on EDGAR. The version in our app holds the disclosed positions in your own connected brokerage instead of showing you a table.
Is there an app that follows Harvard's endowment 13F in my brokerage?
Yes. Pick the Harvard Tracker, connect your brokerage, allocate money. When the Portfolio changes we send the orders and your broker fills them.

That's the source named in the Portfolio's description. Worth remembering that the filing is the public-stock part of the endowment, not the whole thing.
Since Autopilot Advisers is an SEC-registered investment adviser, we have to put disclaimers on stuff like this. They're below, and the full version is on our disclaimer page.
