How to follow Peter Thiel's disclosed positions in your own brokerage account

How to follow Peter Thiel's disclosed positions in your own brokerage account.

Chris Josephs7 min read

I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Peter Thiel is one of the most searched names we see, and most of what people want from him is private. Here's the part that is public, and the part you can act on.

One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.

What's public

Thiel Macro, the hedge fund Peter Thiel runs, files a quarterly Form 13F with the SEC. It lists reportable US-listed stock positions as of the quarter's end, and it posts on EDGAR where anyone can read it.

A 13F can be filed 45 or more days after the quarter closes. So the filing is old the day it posts, and your account follows it after that. Anyone offering you a fund's trades faster than the filing is not working from public information.

What the Portfolio follows

The Peter Thiel Tracker is a Portfolio in the Autopilot app. Its description in the app says the source is EDGAR 13Fs. It is built and managed by Autopilot Advisers from those filings, and when a new filing posts the Portfolio updates and your account follows it. Thiel has nothing to do with it.

The honest limits

Thiel's better-known bets, the early stakes in private companies, are not in any 13F and not available through any app. A fund this concentrated also moves between filings, so the position you follow may be one he has already changed. And the filing covers reportable US-listed stock only, not his whole net worth or his venture holdings.

Tracking versus following

Tracking means you read the positions somewhere. Plenty of sites parse the filing and put it in a table, and nothing happens in your account.

Following means the positions are held in the brokerage account you already have, and stay updated. You pick the Portfolio, connect your brokerage, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.

What it costs

A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

Free sites publish the filing as a table to read. The tracker in our app holds the disclosed positions in your own connected brokerage and updates after each filing posts.

Pick the Peter Thiel Tracker, connect your brokerage, allocate money. When the Portfolio changes we send the orders and your broker fills them. Your money never leaves your account.

That's the source the Portfolio's description names. What you cannot get anywhere is his private and venture positions, which no filing discloses.
