Is there an app that invests based on Grok's stock picks? The Grok Portfolios on Autopilot, explained.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Grok has more Portfolios on our platform than any other model, and they are not variations on one idea. One asks the model a question every week, one asks a completely different question every month. Here's the map.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
What actually exists
As of September 16, 2026 there are several Grok-based Portfolios in the app from independent Pilots, all managed by Autopilot Advisers.
A Pilot called Powered by Grok publishes a group of them, and the descriptions are unusually plain about method. Grok's Weekly 10 is generated by asking the model one question each week for ten stocks with the highest growth potential for the coming week, reassessed and rebalanced every Monday. Grok's Core Holdings asks a structured question monthly and selects fifteen quality companies with strong moats and durable tailwinds, with low turnover. Grok's Moonshots asks a high-risk question weekly and takes six to eight concentrated speculative positions in areas like space, robotics and quantum computing, with its own description warning that many picks may fail or see large drawdowns. There is also an income-focused Portfolio and a long-term diversified large-cap Portfolio.
The Grok Portfolio, from Dr. Lira's AI Finance Labs, holds fifteen assets selected by the model, held for one month, with a complete re-analysis and rebalance at month end. Rallies publishes a Grok Portfolio in its Arena, where the model gets a research toolkit and manages its own book.
The Powered by Grok descriptions state plainly that the Pilot is not affiliated with xAI or the official Grok team. Neither is Autopilot.
Asking the model yourself is a different activity
You can open any chat model and ask it for ten stocks. People do it constantly, and it's worth understanding why that isn't the same thing.
A chat answer has no record. Nobody wrote down what it said last quarter, so you can't check whether it was right and neither can the model. There's no rule for when it sells. There's no rule for how much of your money goes into each name. And you're the one who has to go place every trade, then remember to do it again.
A Portfolio has all of that written down before you follow it.
How the Portfolio runs in your account
The weekly ones turn over fast and the core ones don't, which is the single biggest difference between them and the thing to check before you pick one. Turnover is a cost and a tax event, not a feature.
Step one, choose the Portfolio. Step two, connect the brokerage you already use. Autopilot is not a broker-dealer, we don't hold your money, and nothing transfers out. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
Step three, allocate the money. From there it runs itself. It connects the way Venmo connects to your bank account.
What I'd tell you before you allocate
I want to be honest with you. A model producing picks is not a promise about returns, and nobody can make you that promise. Some Portfolios go up for years. Some are flat for years. What a Portfolio gives you that a chat answer doesn't is a written process, a record that starts at zero and keeps going, and somebody accountable for running it.
Don't do the research on the stocks. Do the research on the process, and on who runs it.
What it costs
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
