What the theme is

A digital asset treasury company is a public company whose main strategy is holding crypto on its balance sheet, often funded by issuing stock or debt. The share price then moves with the crypto price, amplified by the funding structure and by whatever premium or discount the market assigns.

That's different from owning the asset. You're getting price exposure plus corporate risk plus financing risk, in one instrument.

The Portfolios on Autopilot, and what each says it does

DAT Strat, from Dan Dao, is described as a strategy for digital asset treasury companies, built on research into the sector and the historical behavior of the first large treasury company. Its description says it uses position sizing, systematic profit-taking and rotation into yield-bearing digital credit as a cash proxy, with the stated aim of capturing crypto upside while capping downside.

Bitcoin HoDLers, from Unusual Whales, tracks publicly traded companies that buy, hold, or are rumored to hold bitcoin, updated as new information emerges.

Several Pilots also run broader crypto-linked equity Portfolios, including Wolf Financial's Crypto Bull and Gannon Breslin's crypto Portfolio.

Why a Portfolio rather than one stock

Buying one company in a theme is a bet on that company. Themes usually play out across a supply chain, and the winner at the start often isn't the winner at the end. A Portfolio spreads the bet across the chain and keeps it current as the Pilot's view changes.

That doesn't make it safer in the sense people mean. Everything in one theme moves together, so a theme Portfolio is closer to one position than to a diversified portfolio, and should be sized that way.

The risk, said plainly

Leverage cuts both ways and these structures are leveraged. When the underlying asset falls, treasury companies generally fall further, and the premium the market pays can disappear at the same time.

Capping downside is a stated objective in a Portfolio description, not a feature of the market. No allocation rule prevents loss.

And holding equities of companies that hold crypto is not holding crypto. You take on their financing decisions, their management and their accounting on top of the asset's price.

How following works

You pick the Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.

A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
