Jay Plourde's 2030 10X AI Beneficiaries on Autopilot

Jay Plourde's 2030 10X AI Beneficiaries on Autopilot, the application-layer thesis behind it, and why the name isn't a forecast.

Chris Josephs7 min read

I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Jay Plourde's Portfolio makes a bet many AI Portfolios don't: that the lasting value of AI ends up with the companies that use it, not the ones building the infrastructure.

Before anything else, a word about the name.

One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.

1) About the name

The Portfolio is called 2030 10X AI Beneficiaries. The name reflects the Pilot's ambition. It isn't a forecast, and nobody can promise a result like that, not him and not us.

Judge it on how it's built. That's the rest of this page.

2) Who he is

Jay Plourde is an independent Pilot. He creates and manages the Portfolio. His bio says he has spent more than 35 years in global capital markets as an executive, investor, and adviser, including as CEO of CLSA Americas, and that he has worked across institutional equities, private companies, startups, and businesses built on intellectual property.

3) The thesis

His description says the enduring value of AI won't pile up at the infrastructure layer but at the application layer: companies that turn proprietary data, intellectual property, and dominant cash flows into advantages competitors can't easily copy.

It's long-only. For those unaware, that means it only buys stocks. It doesn't bet against anything.

4) How AI fits into his process

Research draws on independent third-party research providers, professional news sources, EDGAR, the US Patent and Trademark Office, and an internal process that uses AI to pull together market data, company developments, and technical signals.

The description is explicit that every investment decision stays with him, and that AI expands his research coverage and monitoring, not autonomous trading. I respect how clearly that's said.

5) The risk, said plainly

I want to be honest with you. Betting on the application layer means betting against where a lot of AI money has gone so far. If infrastructure keeps capturing most of the value, this Portfolio can lag for a long time.

A long horizon only helps if you actually stay through the slow stretches.

6) How following works

Pick the Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.

A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on for each Pilot you subscribe to. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

TLDR: 2030 10X AI Beneficiaries is Jay Plourde's long-only bet that AI's lasting value goes to companies with proprietary data, intellectual property, and strong cash flows. The name is his ambition, not a forecast. He uses AI to widen his research, and the decisions are his.
