Is there an app that follows the Magnificent 7 as a Portfolio in my brokerage?
Is there an app that follows the Magnificent 7 as a Portfolio in my brokerage?.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. You can buy these seven companies yourself in about four minutes, so the honest question isn't whether a Portfolio can hold them. It's whether you want the maintenance handled and the membership decided by somebody else.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
What the theme is
The Magnificent 7 is a nickname for a group of very large US technology companies that have driven a large share of index returns. It isn't an official index, nobody administers it, and membership is a matter of convention, which means different people mean slightly different lists.
That's the first thing worth knowing. There is no definitive membership, so any Portfolio built on it is somebody's decision about who's in.
The Portfolios on Autopilot, and what each says it does
The Magnificent 7, from InTheMoney, is described as tracking the seven most influential US stocks, changing with market sentiment and performance, rebalanced monthly to equal weight. So membership is explicitly not fixed, and equal weighting is a deliberate choice against the market's own weighting.
The Mag 11, from Chris DiDomenico, takes a different approach entirely. Its description says it equally weights the single largest company from each of the eleven standard sectors, on the stated view that this captures the dominant company in every part of the economy while neutralizing the concentration of a cap-weighted index.
Big Tech, from The Rabbit Hole, covers adjacent ground, and Oligopolies Only arrives at large dominant companies through a market-share rule rather than a size one.
Why a Portfolio rather than one stock
Buying one company in a theme is a bet on that company. Themes usually play out across a supply chain, and the winner at the start often isn't the winner at the end. A Portfolio spreads the bet across the chain and keeps it current as the Pilot's view changes.
That doesn't make it safer in the sense people mean. Everything in one theme moves together, so a theme Portfolio is closer to one position than to a diversified portfolio, and should be sized that way.
The risk, said plainly
You already own these. If you hold a broad US index fund, these companies are already a large share of it, so adding a concentrated Portfolio of the same names increases a bet you've already made without realizing it.
Seven companies is concentrated, and they're increasingly correlated with each other and with the same AI capital-spending cycle.
And there's a subscription cost against a strategy you could replicate in a few minutes. That's the arithmetic to do here more than anywhere else: What Autopilot's fee actually means at your balance.
How following works
You pick the Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on if you follow more than one Portfolio. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
Frequently asked questions
Magnificent 7 portfolio app
Autopilot has Portfolios built around the largest US technology companies, published by independent Pilots, held in the brokerage account you already have. Membership isn't fixed, since the group isn't an official index.
Is there an app that holds the Magnificent 7 for me in my own brokerage?
Yes, and it's worth asking whether you want to pay for it, since you could buy seven companies yourself. What you're paying for is the membership decision and the rebalancing.
How do I invest in the Magnificent 7?
You can buy them directly, or follow a Portfolio that decides membership and rebalances. Either way, check how much of them you already own through any index fund you hold.
big tech portfolio I can follow
One Portfolio equal-weights the most influential names monthly; another equal-weights the largest company in each of the eleven sectors instead. Different answers to the same concentration problem.
