Rallies' AI Arena on Autopilot: the ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Gemini, and AI Hedge Fund Portfolios

Rallies' AI Arena on Autopilot, where several AI models share one research toolkit, and how to follow its Portfolios.

Chris Josephs8 min read

I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. People mix these up constantly, so I'll say it first.

These are Rallies' Portfolios. They're separate from the model Portfolios that Dr. Lira's AI Finance Labs publishes, even where the model names match. Different Pilot, different process. Let me explain the Rallies one.

One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.

1) What the Arena is

Rallies is an independent Pilot. It created something it calls the Arena, and it creates and manages the Portfolios in it.

The idea, per its description, is a head-to-head. Rallies uses several AI models in the same setup, gives each one the same research toolkit, and publishes the decisions and the reasoning behind every trade on its own leaderboard. The toolkit named in the description includes SEC filings, earnings data, hedge fund holdings, options flow, short interest, technical indicators, and news.

Rallies runs the process. The models are the tools it uses to do the research. That's the frame I'd hold onto, because the marketing around AI tends to lose it.

2) The Portfolios, one line each

  • ChatGPT. Rallies uses OpenAI's GPT model in the Arena setup.
  • Grok. The same setup with xAI's Grok.
  • Claude. The same setup with Anthropic's Claude.
  • Gemini. The same setup with Google's Gemini.
  • Muse. The same setup with Meta's Muse model, per its description.
  • AI Hedge Fund. Instead of one model per Portfolio, Rallies uses several frontier models together on each decision.
  • AI Skeptic. Its description says it tries to take the opposite of a frontier model's view. Think of it as the contrarian in the room.

Seven Portfolios, one Pilot, one shared research setup. That's what makes the comparison between them worth anything.

3) How this differs from Dr. Lira's Portfolios

Dr. Lira's AI Finance Labs mostly runs scoring processes: data goes in, stocks get graded, the top ones get held, and it rebalances on a schedule. That's covered in Dr. Lira's AI Finance Labs on Autopilot.

Rallies' Arena is built around research and a written thesis for each trade, with the reasoning published. Those produce very different behavior. A scheduled rebalance changes on the calendar. A thesis-driven book changes when the thesis does.

Neither is better. They're different, and you should know which one you're holding.

4) What I'd check first

I want to be honest with you. A model's picks are not a promise about returns, and a leaderboard is a record, not a forecast. Some Portfolios go up for years. Some are flat for years.

Check how often each one trades, because an active book costs more and creates more taxable events in a regular brokerage account. Check how many positions it holds. And read the reasoning Rallies publishes, because that's the rare case where you can see why a decision was made, not just what it was.

The broader map of every AI-model Portfolio on the platform is in Every AI-model Portfolio on Autopilot.

5) How following works

Pick one of the Portfolios, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.

A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on for each Pilot you subscribe to. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

TLDR: The Arena is Rallies' setup for running several AI models side by side with the same research toolkit and publishing the reasoning behind every trade. Seven Portfolios, including a multi-model one and a contrarian one. They're Rallies' Portfolios, not Dr. Lira's, and Rallies is the Pilot running them.
