Is there an app that follows short squeeze stocks for me?
The Short Squeeze Strategy on Autopilot, how heavily shorted stocks behave, and why EliteTrade.Club's The Squeeze is something else.
I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. Short squeezes are some of the most dramatic moves in the market, and they're dramatic in both directions.
We have one Portfolio built around the idea. Before I describe it, let me explain what a squeeze actually is, because the shape of the bet is the whole story.
One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.
1) What a short squeeze is
For those unaware, short sellers borrow shares and sell them, betting the price falls. If the price rises instead, they may have to buy the shares back to cut their losses. When lots of short sellers rush to buy at once, that buying can push the price up fast. That's a squeeze.
The stocks most prone to it are the ones heavily bet against. Which means they're often stocks with real problems. That's the tension at the heart of this trade.
2) The Short Squeeze Strategy
The Short Squeeze Strategy is created and managed by Autopilot Advisers, LLC. It's an Autopilot Portfolio.
Its description points to a news report of a Wells Fargo research call that a market short squeeze was coming, and it holds heavily shorted stocks that have lagged. Wells Fargo has nothing to do with the Portfolio.
I don't reprint holdings on these pages, because they change and this page doesn't. What it holds on any given day is in the app, with a date on it.
3) How concentrated and volatile this shape is
I want to be honest with you. This is one of the most volatile shapes a Portfolio can take.
Heavily shorted stocks are shorted for reasons. A squeeze can happen suddenly and reverse just as suddenly. And when a squeeze doesn't come, these stocks can keep drifting lower for a long time, because the people betting against them were right.
That means big swings both ways, and stretches where nothing happens but slow losses. Size it as a small speculative position, if at all.
4) Don't confuse it with The Squeeze
EliteTrade.Club, an independent Pilot, publishes a Portfolio called The Squeeze. Despite the name, it's a consumer staples Portfolio, groceries and household goods, not a short-squeeze bet. It's covered in EliteTrade.Club's Portfolios on Autopilot.
5) How following works
Pick the Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.
A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on for each Pilot you subscribe to. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.
TLDR: The Short Squeeze Strategy is an Autopilot Portfolio of heavily shorted, lagging stocks, built around a reported Wells Fargo call that a squeeze was coming. It's one of the most volatile shapes there is. EliteTrade.Club's The Squeeze is consumer staples, not this.
