The Rabbit Hole's Portfolios on Autopilot: Big Data Revolution, PayPal Mafia, and the rest

The Rabbit Hole's story-driven Portfolios on Autopilot, including Big Data Revolution and PayPal Mafia, and how to follow them.

I'm Chris, one of the co-founders of Autopilot. The Rabbit Hole publishes five Portfolios, and most of them are built around a story.

Stories are fine. They're how people remember things. But a story isn't a strategy until you know what it actually buys. So here's what each one buys.

One thing first, because we're an SEC-registered investment adviser and I have to say it. Autopilot is the app. The actual investment advice comes from Autopilot Advisers, LLC. If you want the full legal version of anything in here, it's on our disclaimer page.

1) Big Data Revolution

The Rabbit Hole is an independent Pilot. It creates and manages all five Portfolios.

Big Data Revolution is a technology Portfolio built on the idea, per its description, that data is the new oil. It holds companies powering the ability to collect and use data, which the description ties to AI, machine learning, robotics, and social media.

2) PayPal Mafia

This one is built on a piece of Silicon Valley history. In 2000, the two startups that became PayPal merged, and the people behind it went on to found and fund a remarkable number of companies. That group got nicknamed the PayPal Mafia, and it includes people like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel.

The Portfolio holds public companies the group has been associated with through founding, investing, or advising, and in some cases companies that later acquired them. It has its own page: Is there a way to invest in the PayPal Mafia's public companies from my own brokerage?.

3) Big Tech

Exactly what it says. The largest technology companies, including the ones usually called the Magnificent Seven. If you already own a broad index fund, you already own a lot of these, which is covered in Is there an app that follows the Magnificent 7 as a Portfolio?.

4) I Love America

A basket of U.S. companies the Pilot believes will prosper if the country does. The description says it's a long-term buy-and-hold strategy, not a get rich quick one, updated periodically.

It's a values Portfolio as much as an investment one, and the description is upfront about that.

5) The fifth Portfolio

The Rabbit Hole also publishes a Portfolio that tracks the brands a well-known actress collaborates with. It's in the app if you're curious. I'd treat it as an experiment rather than a core holding.

6) What a story Portfolio asks of you

I want to be honest with you. A good story makes a Portfolio easy to believe in, which is exactly why it's worth checking harder. Ask what it actually holds, how concentrated it is, and how it behaved in a bad stretch.

Several of these lean on the same large tech companies, so check for overlap before following more than one.

7) How following works

Pick a Portfolio, connect the brokerage you already use, and allocate money. You give Autopilot Advisers limited authority to send orders to the account you already have. When the Portfolio changes, we send them and your broker fills them. The money stays put.

A flat cash subscription, not a percentage of your balance. Per our Form CRS dated February 2026, Basic Tier has no Base Advisory and Licensing Fee, and Premium Tier is $29.99 to $199.99 a quarter or $99.99 to $699.99 a year. Pilot subscriptions are separate and add on for each Pilot you subscribe to. Because it's a flat dollar amount, it's a bigger share of a small account than a big one, so do the math at your balance.

TLDR: The Rabbit Hole runs five story-driven Portfolios: a big-data tech basket, the PayPal Mafia's public companies, Big Tech, a U.S. values basket, and a celebrity-brand experiment. Several overlap in large tech, so check before stacking them.
